8TOS pioneers Citrix XenServer production deployment for Robi, Bangladesh
The 8TOS team, in collaboration with TOSSBD, completed the first-ever Citrix XenServer production environment deployment for Robi (formerly known as Aktel), the 3rd largest telecommunications company in Bangladesh. Powered by Citrix Essentials for XenServer, the team deployed its production servers onto blades while connecting to multiple high-performance SAN storage units.

"The team has provided consultancy and support for the go-live operation." says Jeremy Kei, Principal Technologist for 8TOS. "The key to a successful deployment is embodied within the knowledge of practical certainty, while remaining educated on its absolute limitations and constraints. This is especially true in the case of Robi, whose virtualization environment involved a complex array of enterprise blades, SAN storage, and accompanying network throttling."
Multiple Citrix Essentials™ for XenServer™ technologies were deployed, extending advanced server virtualization management capabilities to the Robi team through Citrix XenServer virtual machines to help its internal business and operation teams create highly scalable, manageable and agile virtual server infrastructures. The solution supported the operational and IT administration teams throughout the application delivery lifecycle, enabling optimized usage of computing resources through intelligent workload placement and rapid provisioning of new virtual machine resources on demand. It also streamlines storage management in virtual environments with simple backup and maintenance through integration with existing storage platforms.
